Get out to the hilly side of London and check out some art. Nice views, picturesque village, old pubs and more. A half an hour walk, west from the Highgate tube, in the northern part of Hampstead Heath you find the Kenwood House. Preferably you can take the way through the Highgate village and check out the country feeling. The house hosts the 1st Earl of Iveagh´s collection of paintings. You find an impressive collection with works from British painters as well from Rembrandt and Vermeer.
When you walking around in the park it´s hard to belive you are in London. You find lovley paths to walk, hidden places and rolling hills. An act from 1929 stipulates that the house and surroundings should be open to the public free of charge. At the Kenwood House you also find the Brewhouse if you want to have some refreshments on your way.
